As Apple’s annual WWDC approaches, we’re getting more details about the company’s mixed reality headset. Mark Gurman’s recent newsletter details the MR headphone battery pack and charger. The MR headphone battery pack will reportedly be as big as the iPhone but thicker and will charge via USB-C. It is said to be similar to the iPhone MagSafe battery pack that debuted in 2021.

Gurman describes that the battery pack is attached to a cable that ends in a special circular connector and attaches to the headset via magnets. The interesting thing is that the connector will be rotatable so that users can lock it to the headset by rotating it clockwise to ensure it stays in place during use. The other end of the cable will be stuck to the battery pack and cannot be removed.
Gurman also expects the headset to run all of its existing first-party iPad apps in mixed reality as well as “hundreds” of third-party apps without requiring developers to rework their apps. It’ll also get a new meditation-focused health app. It is rumored that the Apple MR Headset will be launched at a price of $3,000.
